| Sporting superstar Lance Armstrong has returned to Tenerife. The cyclist has decided to train on the island once again, according to the Brandon Sun. Armstrong headed to the destination with his team-mate Alberto Contador, the news provider said. They are at a week-long camp ahead of the upcoming cycling season, taking part in road trials and gym work. "I can''t wait for the season to start, just like the rest of the team," Contador told the website. "The best thing about this camp is that it gives us a better chance to know each other." Armstrong is a seven-times champion of the Tour de France who has overcome cancer and is seen by many as an inspirational figure. Those who keep a watchful eye on information about Tenerife will know the speed demon is not the only sports star to favour the destination for training sessions. Boxer Amir Khan and the Manchester City football squad have taken advantage of the island''s sports facilities in recent years. ![]() |
