 Eolica festival to hit Tenerife |

| Holidaymakers could see a whole host of musical artists at Eolica 09 in Santa Cruz. Organisers describe the event - also known as Festival Internacional de Energias Renovables - as a "collective multi-artistic celebration" designed to encourage people to think about the environment. It combines "workshops, exhibitions, projections, visits and excursions with performance, theatre, dance, circus, shows, multimedia - and a line-up of more than 50 artists from around the world on four stages". Scheduled to appear are Scottish power-pop group Teenage Fanclub, Spain''s Catpeople, Oxia, Matias Kaden and Dennis Ferrer, who is being described as the face of hope for a new generation of soulful house producers. Telephunken, one of the most popular groups on the Spanish independent electronic music circuit, will also be hosting a DJ set to entertain those on a Tenerife holiday. Anyone in the know about Tenerife may also be aware details of the Ritmos Del Mundo dance festival, to be held in Puerto de la Cruz on June 20th, have been announced.  |
