| Those heading off for a holiday in Tenerife this summer might like to know that beaches on the Canary Islands have been voted third best in Spain. According to a survey by Corona beer, foreign tourists said the Canaries were the best after Malaga''s and the coast of the Balearics, reports Typically Spanish. European voters said Spanish sand and sea was the second best on the content, after France''s beaches. Of course, those who have already sought information about Tenerife may know that because of the volcanic nature of the island, it has varied beaches. Some are rugged pebble and black sand, while others have lighter and finer terrain. Meanwhile, last week saw the island described as a place offering leisure and adventure to visitors. Web Tenerife highlighted the many attractions, such as festivals, hip night spots and activities such as paragliding. Jose Manuel Bermudez, minister of tourism for Tenerife, said the location has everything "modern travellers" need. ![]() |
