According to FemaleFirst, the Canaries hotspot offers "something different" from other resorts. The consumer site suggested it could be a perfect vacation for fans of the silver screen, due to the fact actress Penelope Cruz has been spotted in the region recently. "Before you start thinking you need to head over to Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills to feel like a movie star then stop right there, unpack your killer heels and book yourself a break in the Canaries," the column stated. It also underlined the importance of the area to the film industry, noting blockbusters such as Clash of the Titans and Papillion have both used its stunning scenery as its backdrop.
