News Article Tenerife holiday could be perfect festive jaunt
Friday 21st Aug 2009 at 14:19
People who love a bit of winter sun may be encouraged to book a holiday to Tenerife for the festive season this year.

This is because officials on the island are planning a number of special events and improvements to its stores, the Tenerife News relayed.

Some €100,000 (£86,500) is apparently to be spent on sprucing up a number of the island''s markets and shops in time for the holiday season.

The report claimed there will be "big improvements" to the Three Kings craft fair held traditionally in Santa Cruz, while other "innovative and surprising" events are said to be in the pipeline.

Vacationers who love nothing more than a bit of window shopping may also find the destination''s festival shop front displays to be even more Christmassy this year, as this is also said to be a big part of the plans.

Those who plan to spend the big day itself in Tenerife may find they are roasting chestnuts on a barbeque on the beach rather than an open fire, as temperatures are usually warm on the island at that time of year.
