| People who keep up to date with information about Tenerife may be interested to learn of the latest sports team to touch down on the island. According to the Islington Gazette, the Times Boxing Club recently held its annual summer camp at the destination, which could further the reputation of the Canaries hotspot as the place athletes go to work and rest. Coach of the squad Alan Kean told the news provider the warm weather helped to put the bruisers through their paces. The trainer hauled the 21-strong squad out of their beds at 07:30 local time each morning for beach jobs, which he said was "great for the lads". "From a fitness point of view, it gets them in perfect shape for the season and everybody worked really hard again," he said. The team also worked out at the TKO gym, which has been a haunt of stars of the ring such as Amir Khan and Nigel Benn in the past. ![]() |
