News Article Mount Teide said to cut Tenerife in half for holidaymakers
Friday 11th Sep 2009 at 17:24
Vacationers looking for information about Tenerife may be interested in the remarks of a commentator.

Writing for Travel Hum, Tom Swick said Mount Teide splits the island in half both literally and metaphorically.

He suggested the north of the island is a sombre affair, stating Puerto de La Cruz is home to winding streets and "rock-strewn" shores.

"[It is] old Europe meets the sea," he said, while also recommending holidaymakers have a visit to La Orotava and its stately mansions.

"Families strolled, children played, Russian workers rested their weary souls on benches."

Casting an eye over the southern portion of the destination, Mr Swick suggested it may be more suitable for those who enjoy a livelier break.

"If European students had spring break, this is where they''d spend it," he explained.

Those who choose a holiday to Tenerife this year could follow in the footsteps of some famous faces – recent visitors have included England and Chelsea captain John Terry and Ultimo model Katie Green.ADNFCR-917-ID-19357434-ADNFCR
